CAMBUS 1964 - SIGNATORY
A fine old bottle of the Cambus 1964 Vintage 31 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky. 70cl. 43.8% abv. Level bottom neck/ top shoulder. With original presentation case and Certificate of Authenticity. Excellent condition. A section of my family runs through the area around the Cambus Distillery at Tullibody and I found these words in a collection of local poetry in which my ancestor William Burns is included the following mention:
"Down, heels owre head, into the ditch;
I've flounder'd wi' a bang !
Confound that Cambus whisky —
I'm a' thegither wrang.
Twa horns o' Eoiox's best I drank,
Twa mae frae Willie Bell;
And, jist to haud my stomach het,
Anither frae the stell;
But when I smelt the caller air,
Ae fit I couldna gang; —
Confound that Cambus whisky —
I'm a' thegither wrang. "
1 bottle.
